BACK TO WORK

Boy, after a few months of retirement it has been really tough to go back to work. We are up early, at the office all day, and home late. I am doing normal, every day, accounting work. I called a guy who I had previously trained and worked with in accounts payable the other day to let him know that I had become an accounts payable clerk just like him. We had a pretty good laugh. So the work is not hard. It's just a bit of a shock to my system.

Other then our new secretary, Sister Dodds, I am the only one in the office with significant computer skills. So I spend a bit of my time teaching and helping with using the computers. Fortunately we have a pair of missionaries who are assigned as the technology elders for the mission. They have been a big help.

Since I'm the only one in the office who sort of knows what to do and how to do it in my area I am also trying to help the others organize themselves to get everything done. The other day we all agreed that we should never file anything because there are almost always missionaries in the office who can do it.

Additionally, occasionally the president asks for my help with special projects that have kept me busy. It is great working with him to try to lift a bit of his burden.

Life is good.
