I suddenly remembered I haven't written yet.  We are pretty busy doing special projects for the president and helping the missionaries with last minute Light the World projects.   It's all pretty boring so I won't go on and on about it.  This is going to be short and sweet.  Our Nativity and Noel was a big success.  Last Sunday night we went to the devotional.  The music was amazing and so was the spoken word.

The Specialist Sisters designed these passalong cards for Light the World in our mission.

I think I've mentioned before that for the first time ever, our church was allowed to have a float in the Houston Christmas parade. It's been a long road to soften hearts there.  When we got here we learned that churches in Houston had special meetings at 7:00 at night just to bash the Mormons.  Well, a lot of work and kindness and perseverance has helped to change the climate. there.  I have included what the senior missionaries had to say about the parade and a couple of pictures.

"Tonight was the night the Houston Ward participated in the town’s Christmas parade. It was a wonderful experience for all that took part. Together, we have prayed that our Ward, float and the packets we would handout would be received well. We prayed that the packets would not be discarded before they had been looked at and pondered - within the walls of each individual home.
At the end of the parade, the “Shepherds” reported very few rejected offers of packets. Most people responded, “We already have a picture of the Savior in our home but we would love to have another.” One of our Sisters made a quick trip back around the parade route to pick up any packets that may have been left on the ground. . .there were none!
We are beyond grateful to have had this opportunity and continue to pray that the Spirit will touch hearts as the truths of the gospel are shared."

The is a beautiful, sacred time of the year.  We are grateful for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!  We are grateful to experience Christmas on a mission.  Merry Christmas to everyone!
