We've really had a great week. As most other times there were up, ups and down, downs.
Down, Downs First
We learned this week that our new mission secretary has decided that she needs to return home. We are sorry to hear this and will really miss her. We like her and will miss her company. And now we will have to pick up the slack from having her gone. We have two new couples coming the middle of February. So we'll soldier on for a few weeks.
Up Ups Second
Amy and Ryan came to visit us. They came on New Years Eve day. We have partied so hard and eaten too much. It has been so much fun. We had to work and play every day.
New Years Eve was on Tuesday. So we served lunch to the MLC on Tuesday.
That's me and President Strong with our outgoing and incoming mission nurses.
Then we left the others to clean up and headed for the airport to pick up the Harris clan. We were so excited to see them. We had lunch and then got settled in for our New Years Eve celebration. We were surprised to have Sisters Cajigas and Barlow drop in to share our party.
While they were here we borrowed a vehicle from the mission so that we could drive back and forth to the office and they could take our car to do a bit of exploring and partying on their own. They visited the pool and found a small stream where they could do a little fishing.
We went to see Star Wars on New Years Day
When we could get away from work we explored the civil war battlefield at Pea Ridge.
We had giant ice cream cones at the Short Stop Conoco in Garfield.
It took Ryan two day to finish his.
On Saturday we took the day and drove to Eureka Springs to visit Turpentine Creek. This is a sanctuary for big cats.
We took them to the airport after church today. We will miss them.
We gave them a missionary send off.
Now we are cleaning the house and getting ready to begin another week of missionary service. These are very sweet times.
