Last Sunday morning I got up and was looking at the pictures of our missionaries who were in Fort Smith cleaning up flood messes.  It just reminded me of what a powerful force the young people in our church are. We have an amazing group of missionaries who work hard and try hard and can smile even when they are covered in stinky, dirty sewage mud.

Tuesday I was in charge of the lunch for 6 week training.  I wanted it to be like a 4th of July picnic.  We had chicken, potato salad, fruit salad, chips, and rice krispie treats.  It turned out well but it's always stressful for me.  6 week training is when we do a lot of training for the missionaries who have been out 6 weeks.  They aren't quite as tired as they are when they first arrive. I've probably said that before but oh well.

Chris is feeling good.  I am feeling good.  Surprise!  Shocker!  No new illnesses, knock on wood.

Wednesday 17 new missionaries arrived.  We went to the airport late to pick up one who came in later.  They all looked so tired and scared, but their eyes were bright.  It's so inspiring.  I always think what a lot of courage there is packed into that room.

Thursday was transfer loop day.  I didn't go this time.  Because of a set of circumstances, we weren't able to rent a large van so we were scrambling to figure out how to fit everyone in.  I got some work done at the office instead.  But I went to the stake center to see them all off and take some pictures.  Chris was exhausted as usual when he got back.  We had 28 missionaries going home and trying to get them rounded up and over to the mission home was pretty rough.  Chris says it's like herding cats.

Thursday morning we had to get up at 3:45 to get to the mission home and start our trips to the airport.  We had 28 missionaries leaving.  We made 3 trips to the airport before noon.  They have so many interesting emotions.  They don't quite know how to feel, so they feel everything.  We love them so much.  They are just amazing.

We were so tired from getting up early that we came home at 4:00 and I went right to sleep and woke up at 7:00.  I had a little trouble falling asleep at night though.  Today we slept in and then we got ready for Mary's family to arrive  We are so excited!  Tomorrow!  Can't wait to see them.
