We Are Doing Much Better

Carol is doing much better after her surgery. On Friday we even took some missionaries to our favorite pizza place and she had a little pizza, some garlic knots, and some salad. This is major progress. She felt fine afterward. She sees the surgeon for a follow up on Tuesday. But she is doing much better.

The steroids are really reducing the swelling and pain in my knee. That and Tylenol keeps me going. I am able to ride my bike for exercise. Walking is OK but not as much fun; a bit of a pain!

We felt well enough to go for a walk one evening after work and came across this blue heron!

Missionaries Love Service Opportunities

Last weekend, the missionaries had a service filled weekend because of the flooding! We had a town nearby under water and they had a lot to do. They got a lot of hard work done, from completely gutting an entire school to mucking out a few houses down to the frame work. There sure is a lot more to do out there but people were so impressed and grateful for all the helpers in the yellow shirts:) Service is the best!!!

We have missionaries and members traveling South to Fort Smith for more flood cleanup.  They go in sets of 2 days at a time, starting this weekend.  The missionaries love to go help.  Sometime we think that what we really need to improve mission morale is more natural disasters. They love this stuff.

The missionaries who went from here took the mission van and truck/trailer. They were so excited to go that they "camped" in the back of the trailer (just a cargo trailer) last night. We invited them to stay with us because we have room. They were having none of that. It's an adventure!

This is 2 sister missionaries.

We love the name of this place.

Gardening Update

We ate a tomato off our plants the other day. It was good. Considering that it is only mid-June I think this is another reason to live in Arkansas.

It was Carol's idea to display it on this "pedestal" (It is not an egg yolk)

Bird Feeder

A few weeks ago we put out a bird feeder. This week Carol finally caught a picture of a cardinal on the bird feeder.

TIWI Work

One of the new things I'm doing is monitoring the driving of the missionaries. Every morning I wake up and check how we did. Then I text all those who had incidents the previous day. I'm posting an example here just for the record.

It's pretty funny that I can see where they've been and what they did.
