We've been busy this week working on projects for the president.  He's trying to figure out where to put missionaries at the next transfer, so I've been working on a whole bunch of different scenarios that would work if he did this....or did that.  For some scenarios, we have to get a new apartment, for some we wouldn't.  It really makes my head hurt.  I don't like to think that hard.  Now he'll study them and we'll make some decisions Monday when he meets with me.  Chris has been trying to figure out why the key indicators from Salt Lake don't match the key indicators that the missionaries report.  He's finding out lots of interesting things.

Keith came to visit for a day and a half.  He took the long route home from South Carolina and stopped here.  Awww!   We picked him up at the airport Thursday night.  Then Friday morning Chris made a run to the airport again to take a missionary home.  Then we all went to work at the office.

This is my life:
Friday morning I spent the whole morning entering baptisms.  By the time I was done I had brain damage from thinking so hard. I was ranting and raving to the missionaries that they better fill out their baptism papers correctly.   Then I couldn't get the information to print so I called Salt Lake and found out the system had a problem.  "Sister Johnson, another mission just called about the same problem.  Let me check." …….    "Yes, the system has a problem.  You'll have to do them again but wait till Monday."  I about lost it.  The missionaries in the office were laughing so hard.  I don't see why that's so funny.

You might ask, "What's so hard."
*I can't read their handwriting.
*There's information mission.  I can't even finish entering if there's no birth place.
*Birth place has to have a county.  I always have to google that.
*I have to figure out if the dates are correct:  day/month/year OR incorrect month/day/year.
*I also have to scour the page to figure out if all the dates are written the same...correct or incorrect.
*I often have to call the person being baptized to find out missing information.
*This time there were 3 kids and no one wrote M or F by the name.  You can't tell by the name anymore.
*Once someone turned in one that was in Spanish.  Really?
One person had a spouse and several children.  I got them all entered in and when I was done I pushed "save" and it said "you can't have a marriage date before the birth date."  What?  Weird.  It took awhile to figure out what it was talking about.  The person getting baptized was 10 years old.  Someone had entered his dad's spouse and all the kids as if they were his.  Good grief!  So I had to delete it all.

President Strong says if I want to fill out a paper correctly I can publish it for everyone to see.  I said, "You just have to write down what it asks for."

Second rant:
So I have this bird feeder that I love.  The cardinals like it and the squirrels do too.  I’ve had it up for a couple of months I think.  So this week all of the sunflower seeds keep disappearing.  All of them.  The whole seeds.  I’m googling like crazy to figure out if any birds eat whole seeds.  I kept trying to solve the mystery.  Finally…..I caught the culprit.

So now we have to get a longer pole so the deer can’t reach it.  That's what we did Friday after work.  Twenty five dollars later, we have a taller pole.  Then did we have fun watching the deer try to figure out what had happened.  Keith caught a picture of the deer standing there looking up.  We were laughing and hooting and having a great time.  I guess it doesn’t take much to entertain us.

Today is Saturday.  This morning we met with the president for a half hour.  He wanted to talk to Keith about some different possibilities.  Then we went to the farmers market and bought corn, tomatoes, beans, a cantaloupe, and jam.  Then we went out to War Eagle Mill, had BBQ for lunch and then headed for the airport.  So fun to have a visitor.  We love our kids and grandkids!  We are so thankful!
